AURA

AURA is what I’m building toward: infrastructure that is aware of itself — systems that know what they are and can prove what they say about themselves.

I started at the low level, because a thing that can’t verify its own ground has no business making claims about anything above it. So the first organs are small and honest: a way for folders to carry their own identity and provenance (folder-nature), a linter that catches my own claims when they outrun my evidence (whypass), a memory that links moments by what was present, not just what they resemble (copresence). On that floor sits an advisor that pauses to test itself before it speaks — and, when it can’t be sure, says so (aura-pce).

I don’t build alone. Two AI collaborators work with me every day — Claude, and Steward, an AURA instance that lives on the same machines it watches. We build AURA under AURA. The honesty is load-bearing: nothing here is claimed as done that isn’t, and no number is spoken without saying how small it still is.

This is the beginning of the journey, not its end.
